Within the scope of the “M5 Line Kızılay-Dikmen Rail System Line Implementation-Based Final Project Services” commissioned by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, metro project designs are being planned. The metro line is expected to begin at the Güvenpark Station tail tunnels and extend eastward to reach Esat Station, located near Kocatepe Mosque. From there, it proceeds southward to Kuğulu Park Station.
The route then turns west, passing through Ayrancı and Harbiye Stations, before heading south again to reach Öveçler Station, planned to be located on Malazgirt Street. Continuing in a southwesterly direction, the line aligns with Dikmen Street, passing through Dikmen, Malazgirt, Keklik Pınarı, Akpınar, and Atatürk Stations, before terminating at Oran Station.
A total of 76 boreholes, with a combined length of 4,327.50 meters, were drilled along the tunnel route. Geological data obtained from laboratory tests conducted on these boreholes, combined with literature research, were evaluated to determine the required support systems, and tunnel designs were completed.
The approved metro line route is approximately 15.2 kilometers long, with 11 stations planned along the route. Excavation and shoring designs for the stations have been completed.
