The Oman National Railway Project consists of a 2,244 km long railway line connecting Oman from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) border to Muscat, the Ad Duqm Port and Salalah in the south of the country, and finally to the Yemen border. The project is divided into nine different sections.

In the first section of the project, the focus has been on the designs of the Ajran Tunnel and Kitnah Tunnel. Detailed design studies for these tunnels have been carried out within this scope.
