The Hakkâri-(Hakkâri-Van) Provincial Border Road, located within the jurisdiction of the 11th Regional Directorate of Highways, is planned to be redesigned for the section between Km: 28+460 – 29+239 to accommodate increasing traffic demands and improve the standards of the existing road. Within this scope, a tunnel has been proposed for the designated section.

The T4 Tunnel route, which is the subject of the project, begins within the borders of Hakkâri Province, partially follows the existing Hakkâri-Van Highway, and ends at Km: 34+265.94, within the borders of Van Province. The tunnel is designed as a single-tube, dual-lane passage suitable for a Class 1 highway.
